“The Girl Next Door” was a massively underrated film from 2004 that marked the first major role for Emile Hirsch, and also for the beautiful and talented Elisha Cuthbert; Cuthbert starred as an adult film actress that moves in next door to a high school senior (played by Hirsch). Hirsch’s character gets accepted into college, but doesn’t have the money to attend; he ends up raising $25,000 but it goes poorly until the very end: as most of these films tend to do. In one of The Girl Next Door’s most memorable scene Hirsch is receiving a lap dance, but couldn’t actually touch the woman that was stripping; that’s because Hirsch was still under 18 years old at the time of filming, so the director had to place several pillows between them to ensure there was no physical contact. Another interesting “Girl Next Door” fact is that Timothy Olyphant actually hurt Emile Hirsch in the scene where Olyphant beats him, because he accidentally forgot to take off his rings. Hirsch receives the worst lap dance ever, and a beating to go with it: the poor kid just couldn’t catch a break.
